Q. How do I receive attachments that are banned?  What attachments types are not allowed?

A. The email administrator has the ability to ban certain attachment types.  Currently all attachments that have an .exe, .com, .pif, .zip, .scr or .vbs are rejected by the server.  The sender is sent a message stating that that file is not allowed.  Files with one of these extension types are mostly likely viruses.

The .zip(compressed file type) and .exe(self extracting zip file) can have legitimate uses.  If you need to have someone send you a file of this type, have the sender rename the file, replacing the "." with a "_".  Once you receive the attachment, you can rename it back to it original name.

For example, if someone wants to send you an attachment name photos.zip, have them rename the attachment to photos_zip.
